B1: Lower Intermediate German
Achieve independent language use. At B1, you can handle most situations likely to arise while traveling and express yourself clearly on familiar topics.
The Path to Independence
The B1 German course is the pivotal stage where students transition from guided communication to genuine independence in the language. Having mastered basic tenses and case systems in A1/A2, B1 focuses on expanding vocabulary for complex topics, understanding longer, nuanced texts, and expressing opinions, hopes, and plans coherently. You will learn to use all necessary subordinating conjunctions and the passive voice, allowing you to narrate experiences, describe dreams, and justify views with sufficient grammatical complexity for daily communication and preparing for official B1 certification exams.
What You Will Learn
Complex Sentence Structures
Mastery of the Subjunctive II (*Konjunktiv II*), passive voice (*Passiv*), and advanced sentence connectors (*damit, obwohl, während*).
Handling Abstract & Current Affairs
